Hi all, Just started my pointless website (14th of march) and now I am wondering when you get a google pagerank?
When sites link to you they pass pagerank. This is shown on the google toolbar and updated every few months. Google update their internal pagerank figures continually.
Page ranks are updated after 3-4 months,Recent update was in Feb-Mar . You should concentrate on quality inbound links.
Been to ur pointless website, was a bit lost there ... Anyway try to get some quality links this will get u PR, in theory u need only one link to get PR, haven't seen that yet but I think it must be true as our new website got a PR 3 at the last google update! Have not been doing much SEO for that website yet.
tx all for the info. I know it should be about content. But in this case it's pointless. no content just leaving your mark ( i.e. your url) to prove you where there. enough about that. @mong, how do you know that I notice PG is a thing of the past. so what is the current holy Google grail ps. sorry but my question mark doesn't work
Mong is like the rest of us. We will check our sites every so often to view how the PR is going and see if there are any changes. During February and into the beginning of March there was a change again to many sites. I had a few new ones that went from 0 to 4 or 5 during that time frame. So it is a matter of just waiting because Google never really announces it that I have ever seen.
Don't worry about PR.. just get links to your site..more and more of them.. And you would get a fair pr and rankings... Just try to avoid being put in the sandbox.. by making the links naturally...make quality link exchanges... Manish
A term used to describe why new websites do not rank as highly as you would expect in google for a few months.
Back to the PR topic, I read somewhere that PR affects how deep SE will crawl your website. I need SE to crawl and index my pages like ./ ./content/file_to_indexed ./content/2006/Week/file_to_indexed So which PR do I need or what is in general the relation PR and how deep SE will crawl??
The more links there are to your site the deeper the search engines will crawl. Since PR is related to links then the higher the PR the deeper they crawl. Having a few links is normally enough to get indexed.
