Hello All Just wondering whether anyone can answer me this simple question... Do the serps get updated when Google re-visits / re-caches my website or does it happen as soon as new links are found? For example if my website got re-cached on a 2-weekly basis, say on the 1st and 14th of the month but Google discovered 5 amazing links on the 3rd then would I see the benefit of these in the serps as soon as Google finds them or would the benefit only appear after the site gets re-cached. Thanks Rhys
Your rank changes daily so the serps are always updating. However, your ranking may go up or down depending on your competitors page also, they may gain back links and pass you thus driving your rank down. This is constantly changing
You can expect for "all the times" for SERPs to be updated. It does never has specific time frame ever.
Nobody know about it It happens everyday and also depend where are you located and what Google server are you using
Changes in the serp is dynamic in nature and it occurs all the time... depending on the sum of efforts put in by everybody! Regards, RightMan
No one knows exactly what happens, but I believe there are minor updates that happen 24 hours a day, and then more major updates that happen periodically - when there are changes to the algo for example or a new authority site enters your niche?
Indexing your home page is different from affecting backlinks for ranking your website. Backlinks will affect faster and its not related to crawling and indexing your website.
Indexing of sites depends on the site popularity in the eyes of google, but ranking updates take a while. My case, usually it takes a few business days. http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=70897
