As this is a "chilling out" section, maybe we can share some memories. When was the first time you used the internet? I had internet for the first time in 2007 (was looking quite handsome, hehehe). I was using a dialup connection and wasting time on IRC.
Same here, 1997 - got tired of all those BBS and got myself a dialup account. Had to dial from 30 to 60 mins before I could get online. And my best download speed was about 4 KB lol...
well, I was like you too in the beginning I used dial-up I first used it in 2005 , it was only for school projects I was in high school back then and didn't have time to do other stuff for fun right now I'm using DSL it's much better and faster then dial-up I'm using it for business and network marketing from home and some times others stuff
If I remember correctly, it was in 1998 that I got myself a first dial-up connection which incidentally kept getting dis-connected every time I tried to connect! I got so frustrated with it that I hardly tried using it again...for another month or so! Regards, RightMan
would've been around 1994 , my dad a licence ham operator had just got packet radio setup (bbs over ham radio ) his mate gave him these T numbers (telnet ip address) so we followed the directions it went to a gateway bbs to internet gateway , a few minutes later a big ascii sign popped saying " you have now entered a restricted military computer of the american dod , you have been logged etc etc me and my dad looked at each other shitting ourselves, for days afterwards we were on the look out for the black vans , even when we are living in australia
1997. Same like everyone else, I started with a dial-up connection. At that time, it managed to get the speed up to 42Kbps which considered fast at that time. I also use the Internet at that time to chat via Mirc. For surfing Internet, I still remember that I use Netscape Navigator as a browser and Webcrawler as a search engine. - Dynashox -
I used first time in my school days. i was asking stupid questions to my friend when he asked me to go to internet and have an email account. I asked him how much we will have to pay to open an account in yahoo? than I asked where is yahoo's office to open email account? (hehehehe)
1993 on Prodigy then AOL ISP. Connection was very slow because of my modem, though everything was slow back then.
I first used the internet when I was about 8 or 9 years old back in 1997 ish back in the days of do more than one thing in windows and the whole pc dies. Loved the old dial up noises though ...
Had my 1st IBM compatible pc in 1988 and went on the internet in 1994 with a dial up and man that was so slow.
I remember using internet wayback 2004 and at that time I am still crazy with yahoo messenger and some online games
