I have seen so many people earning so much money and I whas wondering when you can say a website or forum is succesfull?? Is it the money you earn with adds, or is it the devoted members, who you became friends with. Or is it just a litle bit of space that makes you happy posting and keeping upo to date, no matter the add income or the members.

For me it's the members, I love my website cause I know each and every member. Whe are all friends and yes tho I earn a few bucks (just enough to keep paying the bills) I never ever even want to make big money I am happy with it.

are you happy with yours? :)

I have a forum too, not too big either... I call it successful when people keep coming back and keep posting. When you have a community thing going on, then you can call your forum succesful.

I can understand how you love your forums and your members, but it's just silly not to have relatively unobtrusive ads on an established website unless you're using it to sell/market your own products/services.

Pity I dont know a thing about Final Fantasy, or I could've joined your forum :p

    I believe its all reletive.

If you start a forum from scratch and get one new member who posts, that's a success.

From 1 you aim for 10, once you have 10 that's another success, and so on.

Clearly not every forum/site can become as big as DP because of the niche thay are in. Would you consider these sites not to be successful? NO, its all reletive.

Set goals for yourself and once they have been acheived, move onto another goal and keep the site growing.

Most websites do not become successful overnight, it takes time and a lot of effort to achieve your goals.

I'd say it's a success when you've reached your goals, whatever they may be. In order to be successful though you have to have goals to reach :)

And while you should certainly have new goals as you go along - don't just keep moving the goalposts or you never have a success to celebrate.

That's what I get a day. I have bought directory submissions but so far no significant increase of traffic.

Success is a relative term. For some people, $10 a day will suffice, while for some others, nothing less than $100 will do.

You need to be happy- that is what counts. That comes with money for some, service to the community for others.

depend on each person standard as above people said. for me if you can earn money more than doing a fulltime day job with a very few work to do, you already succeed.

Is it the money you earn with adds, and is it the devoted members. They both doth exclude one another. You are lucky to be happy in life with what you have. Most people are never satisfied and want more.
