Nope. Except maybe CPA networks such as clickbank, shareasale, cj.com and whatnot, some say they earn much more this way.. who knows..
There is nothing better than Adsense when it comes to contextual ads....period. who is paying to you all adsense publishers ? adwords advertiser, they are making more profits than adsense publishers thats why this system works. adwords advertisers are selling products and services also they are publishing affiliate links through adwords so there is many better than adsense.
There are many alternatives for adsense like: AdBrite Bidvertiser Chitika Infolinks / Intellilinks Pocket Cents. But nothing can replace adsense. Adsense is always the topper. Kontera

I think its really important when considering which of these affiliates to use, to also include payment options. Depending on what you are making and how they are sending the payment, you could end up losing a huge chunk of your earnings to just getting paid. I personally use Clicksor and infolinks because the use Payoneer, which has been great for me and cheap. I looked into commission junction but it didnt pay with Payoneer, so I decided not to join but I really wish they would.
I find adsense pretty terrible, but the CPM networks have crazy high barriers to entry, 20k pageviews a day or 1M pageviews a month aren't uncommon.
what about the digital point ads, they are saying they got a 400% increase with some of there sites compared with adsence
if we talk about for ppc adsense, but you need a quality website.. otherwise affiliate business is better.
Adsense is better, but some people complain tht google banned there adsense account for nothing. Cpa networks are also good alternate of adsense
Yes. I do have very few stories such as your topic says. Mostly from a combined CPA/CPM/CPC networks, But it is quite rare to gain more than AdSense nowdays..
