When a website doesnt get in SERP for its name even

This is a Google Specific problem i have noticed for many websites of our clients.

There is a website with Sitename.com and it was ranking fine on google, but now i do not even show up for Sitename

Even for its specific name, the site is not showing and some crappy pages are showing up. The site itself comes on page 3 or 4.

Does this mean the site has been de valued ?

And if that be the case, what can be done to rectify the situation ? should we be building more links or to contact Google support ?

Atleast for our Sitename which is not a keyword, we should rank on Page One and for this we may contact Google.

    Any suggestions will be helpful.

domain name isnt everything.. your site can rank for any number of reasons. Just because my site is global-health-insurance.com doesnt mean i will rank for the keywords "Global Health Insurance". Take a look at this list for a good idea of what can makes your site rank.

i would like to add that its is personal name and not a keyword like Global Health Insurance.

And the site was ranking fine for that keyword (name of company) for past 2 years and now its not there. :( is showing up on page 4

Take a look at the source code for the companies on the first 2 pages. Look at your backlinks, too. Are they dwindling?

i dont think that it will take 3 months to get back on the same keyword, the keyword has no competition at all, maybe the site has been de valued by google.

The links are same and the pages of site in API are also the same

in my logs, i can see googlebot visiting site many a times.

the main page is indexed many a times and is showing latest cached page.

the internal pages are also been indexed regularly

there is still lot of traffic from google.

do u have an account with google site maps? an account there can help u figure out whats wrong with your site, perhaps missing links, or some error where your site cant be found. This could be a good way to figure out whats wrong with your site.

If the site name was ranking fine, was it in your title and or in your domain? I'm assuming it was on your site, at least in your copyright statement?

    If so search Google for:

    inurl:yourdomain.com
    intitle:yourdomain.com

    also
    inurl:yourdomain (leave off the .com)
    site:yourdomain (leave off the .com)

Now look for any site that has your title in their title and uses a lot of your content in their "description" then it can harm your rank (check their alt tags for the same spam). Also check Google's cache of these sites--if your site appears in the other site's cache then it's likely some kind of redirect (302, metarefresh, etc.). Scraper directories can harm your rank in many ways.
