    Depends on the parent...

...I'm well aware that I will always be my mother's baby...WELL aware of that.

In my dad's eyes though, he'd have rather me be a man at age 10.

A person is really only grown up when they take it upon themselves to live relying on themselves.

This doesn't mean being on your own at college with your parent's money, or even after you have a job after college.

You could be an adult when you're 15; still a child when you're 51.

Once you start caring for that around you before yourself, at the cost of yourself, you are growing up (but hopefully you'll never get old! Always keep that mind young and fresh!)

It is said that we grow for all our life. It seems we became grown-up when we are in grave

Sometime growing up is not literally speaking, it depends on the manner of who your are talking to. For example, when you're talking to your parents, what they want you to do is to clean up your act, be sensitive, be more mature in your attitude. To some friends, it also means to clean up your childish act and be a man/woman.

It's just that there are things that we may be called as "grown-up" and there are things that are not yet ready for us where we should grown up..

When the person is old enough (18 years old in China), he has grown up from the aspect of law.
When the person is tall enough, he has grown up physically.
And when the person is willing to take responsibilities, he has grown up psychologically.

I guess a person can be called "grown up" when he can smile at his divorce ;) Just kidding!

When you start thinking for yourself (and that includes thinking beyond religious/cultural beliefs) - then you're a "grown up".

When you no longer need to ask such questions then you are at high stage of maturity.

A person is only truly grown up when he is emotionally mature and not physically. Some even at 40 are still not grown up :D

To be a grown up you need to take care of yourself. Get a job, have your paycheck, your house/apartment, your family. Basically do what you need by yourself, paying the bills etc. But also there's mental adult persons, you can be adult with 15 years old if you know to take care of yourself and that you realize the situation which is: Nothing's free, if you want something, do your best to get it.
