    Hi,

I wanted to know when a new site starts receiving traffic from Search Engines?

On-Page optimization is done. Sitemaps have been submitted and Social Media Promotion is also in the progress.

Site is also regularly updated with fresh contents.

There are no errors reported in the Google and Bing Webmaster Accounts.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Regards
    WM

    Two different issues.

What you've done so far is perfect for getting your site INDEXED with Google.

But that has very little (just the prerequisite) for getting search traffic.

For search traffic, you need to rank high on pages of keyword searches people are actually interested in. Sure, on-page optimization is part of that. But most importantly is choosing keywords with low competition where you can actually rank with just a little bit of smart work. All the on-page optimization in the world isn't going to get you ranked for "how to make money online' since it's highly competitive. You need to find a good, low competition keyword, change your on-page optimization appropriately, and then consider if there's anything else you can do like a backlinking campaign.

Anytime as long your site is searchable from Google.
If you refer only from Google Organic traffic then you need to know where your site ranking in and which keywords is your site ranking currently.
You need to target the keywords to rank your site to the top ranking then you will see your site getting more and more organic traffic from your site .
Try to rank atleast second page of Google search , if not it would be hard to get the number of traffic you want.

Then submit it in the search engines. Start doing off-page activities like bookmarking.

Off-page optimization is the next step after on-page to receive the traffic from search engines. Go for getting quality backlinks from various sources, sharing via social media accounts, social bookmarking, commenting on forums and blogs, submitting articles to directories etc. It is also helpful to do competitors' research to find out where your top-ranked competitors got their links from (it can be done with the help of a backlink checker) and which sources they use to share information about their products or services.

As others have stated, you have to do a lot more than just optimize your onpage seo to get search engine traffic. Now you need to build a better backlink profile than you competitors. This part can take quite a while depending on how competitive your keywords are. So be patient and just focus on consistently building links.

A rule of thumb is the more you promote your site the more organic traffic you will eventually begin to get. If your site doesn't become an instant hit, I would say it will take about a year of constant advertising before you can start getting some solid organic traffic. It could take longer.

There is no hard and fast rule or deadline. It depends upon the amount of time and money and ofcourse direction you have put in.
