no this is not another why is my friend banned thread

my question is why do banned members still get a live link via latest blog post??

i noticed it with this member http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=23457 after reading one of the post that got them banned.

This is my guess. It would take special intervention to manually remove live link. With users constantly being banned and unbanned it probably is not worth removing until it can be handled programatically.

but i thought banned members lose there sig links, a blog link is just as good to a member that has been banned for spamming.

Same reason their signatures don't show up when banned! Why give them links to their site when they are banned!

The real question is : Should peoples banned from DP be allowed to keep their sites ?
Do they really deserve it ?

    Hmm, not sure :D :D

thats very shortsighted of you shawn, but i'll help you out here.

and because there is no limit to how long the blog title can be, a banned member can go on a rant about DP and being banned, and it will force everyone to scroll 3 miles sideways to read the threads, that he has posted in.

now i made that public, i guess shawn will have to go fix the problem now

I think the right of having a blog link should also be taken away for banned members.

They do loose reps and infractions when they come back but when they are banned, they dont

sig links dont go unless a mod/admin removes it

No its not meet, you have to modify code yourself vbulletin is not responsible for this feature.

Vbulletin does not come with this blog feature by default to prevent misleading people thinking Vb has anything to do with it.

Why should the system be changed for something that would rarely occur?

because no-one thought of it before, when you ban someone and they setup the blog link, they can still post on DP via their blog, and as that is on every post they made, it will show on them all.

Ya i think they should be?coz at some specific time were the members of DP but if for some reason they got banned then it doesn't mean they should be thrown out the banned problem is for few days so the bann will be removed from them and they can come back to DP...whats ur openion?THe banned persons should n't be discouraged.....
