I have a question to ask. After a site has been developed and ready to run on web which is the first thing to be done? Is it better to submit site to google first and then go for building backlinks or Vice versa?
You dont need to submit your site to google! I would recommend you just focus on building quality back links to your site and your your site will automatically get indexed! Just place a link to your site in your signature and your site should be indexed in 24 hours!
I would add it to google anyway...why not... it takes 30 seconds. Ideally if you can get a link from another site nice and easily that would be beneficial in getting it speedily indexed.
yes..i guess its better to build quality backlinks ,then we can check whether the links have been crawled by google when our site gets indexed by google.
Why don't you do both simultaneously? Also, as mentioned, Google will automatically crawl your site if you build backlinks from pages/sites which have been indexed.
I've never added my websites to Google because I've noticed that they get indexed rather quickly if I am building backlinks. I don't think it hurts anything, but generally good results with SEO isn't something accomplished overnight anyhow. So, probably either way is going to end in the same result, which is why I don't bother.
If you add your site's URL to your signiture here Google will find it within a day or so anyway, make sure you have a xml sitemap added to your Google Tools. Don't wast waluable backlinking time telling Google where your site is, by now they most probably already know.
I personally don't find the need of submitting the site. Just build links to it, and it will get indexed. Submit the sitemap to Google for better indexing...that's all.
I build a site and plan to submit to google. After I build my site. I answer some question to yahoo answer and forgot to submit my URL to google...Another day I check my site. It's index by Google already....nice.
