Hello, my name is Lynette and I am an MA student at the University of Sheffield undertaking a study on the role of the Social web in people’s everyday lives. I am looking to interview people from the Digital Point forums about their use of Social web services and how this relates to issues of identity and gender. I have chosen this site as the discussions here seem considered and articulate.

The interviews will take place over the next week or so, and will be conducted via an instant messaging program (e.g. MSN messenger, AIM). Each interview will take around 30 minutes and can be arranged at a time that is convenient for the interviewee.

If you are interested in giving your perspective on this topic please email me at sop08ljh@sheffield.ac.uk.

    Thank you

I work in this field - and quite honestly - sites like Facebook have pretty much completely replaced the phone for me. I'd say a solid 80% of my communication with friends is through social network sites.

It is interesting how quickly these sites and services have become so pervasive in many people's lives.

Would you like to participate in an interview? Your help would be very much appreciated.

I agree with the above poster. I find it annoying how people tell out everything.
