What are your target positions in SERP ? I have some pages in #6, #7, #13 in Google and #1 and #2 in Yahoo. Shall I be satisfyed, or shall I invest time and work hard to get better SERP in Google ?
my target position is #1 on the first page of goog this position brings the bulk of traffic of the search for the specific keyword you have it. i read a while back an analysis of what percentage of people clicked on the first link, what % on the second link, what % on the third etc. anyone know where this thing is? all i remember from it is that there is only one good position, and that's the number one, as other positions just get a small part of what the #1 gets.
it depends. i have a #3 spot in G for a keyword, and the numbers 1 and 2 have few clicks because they're from a governament web site, so i get all that traffic. so its a perspective view, at least for me.
the title can make the difference, if your webpage title is exact the keyword phrase you rank well for, and others have something else, you will get all the traffic. People don't like long titles and descriptions.
Some might find this to be really odd, but I have found that all my keywords that fall in the 3rd and 4th position in the SERP's yield a lot more sales conversions that any other positions. Don't ask us if you should be satisfied with your results or not. You need to ask yourself that question. On a side note, I have also found that Yahoo converts better than Google in their natural organic results as well as their paid (PPC) results.
Besides being in #1, #3 or #6, you should have a good title and description, to convince the user to click on
Out of our 10 or so main keywords, we've hit #1 with 3 or 4.... The goal is #1 for all. Nothing less will do, and I don't lose.
be Patient Coz we all know The Big "G" is now the leading SE's indexed sites, and Because of that crawlers are rearranging the positions simultaneously.. and they have a System which is called the Google Fresh Crawl, which is two types: Fresh and Main.. im sure your site will rise upward in sometime
