I have a site and would like to add more links, just for link polularity, do not care about the pr, I submitted manually to about 1000 directories listed in this website: www(dot)addurl.nu, but now just about 100 more or less approved my links, I just wanna know it 's always so low a probability to submitt to such links?? what's yours ? It 's any thing I did wrong? I had chose the proper category.

submit to the new directories that are announced every day at 'Solicitations & Announcements'. Approval rate will be better with these new dirs.

Prepare a non spammy title and descriptions.

Do follow the rules of the directories.

Don’t waste your time submitting to a bunch of directories that don’t even have the page you’re submitted to cached (that includes new directories). You won’t submit to nearly as many directories but the end results will be far more beneficial and your time well spent.

Just don't waste your time submitting your site in directories with 5k+ links in their queue and your approval rate will improve ;)

First.. depending of your site. If bad quality.. smaller chances.

If submit to new directories.. chances for approval are rising, but those new directories may need some time until google's spiders take a good look on them.

Anyway.. I also submitted in about 1.000 directories until now.. and as far as I know.. only 200 listed me, and another 10 or 15 dirs sent me emails with rejection.

it's successful if your site can generate 2-3 clicks from one general directory...

some web directories require email verification.
if you don't verify your email address, then you don't get approved.

of course email validation isn't the only thing, if your site lacks content,
has broken images or links, you probably wouldn't get approved.

i have a directory, and if you don't validate your email, or if your site
lacks content or just plain sucks, i won't approve it.

Your approval rate will depend on 3 things.
    - the quality of your site
    - the quality of your submission
    - the directories that you choose *most important

The problem is that some free directories have not approved a free submission in years. If you want high approval rates you have to submit to directories that regularly approve free submissions. This isn't easy as you are working with a moving target.

As part of our submission service we work hard at identifying directories that actually approve submissions. It isn't always the directories that have the highest Pageranks. As mentioned above, new directories are one source that will give you higher approval rates.

defend with your submission, maybe your submission have a lot keyword inside the description, or look like spamming link..

It will depend on the directories criteria. Some directories feature more stringent rules in order to accept your link into it. The best practice is:

    1) Always ensure you're using the correct category for your site
    2) Use keywords that match your site in the name and description
    3) Be patient, some directories take their time to review links that don't provide a reciprocal or that aren't paid for
