What are your methods to identify profitable affiliate products before investing time/money?

You have any video links to step by step videos?

Any detailed websites I should read?

I get on email lists from the big marketers like schefren.

When I get an email from him, I know a product is coming out soon and it will be profitable. So I find the affiliate link for that product and then prepare a keyword list for a HEAVY PPV campaign.

Fans of the product that aren't trying to sell you a copy themselves. If they buy it & like it enough to recommend it, chances are others might want to buy it too :)

Though that's hard to search for with all the affiliates hawking products as "reviews".

It is just very easy at first you need to know what the product really is, second is the product can help other people, third are the product is very highly recommended and lastly are the product proven and tested. If that all comes then it is very highly profitable affiliate products. And you must also see the commission rates if you are really in need of money.

Easy - would you buy it if you were in the buyers shoes? If not, move on.

Just check the top selling products in affiliate directories like MarketHealth, ClickBank or Commission Junction. If the product is a top ten seller, you can bet other affiliates are finding it profitable.

Many of the Software Affiliate programs (RegNow or even CJ) rank the top performing applications for affiliates. Personally I think its more important to match the niche if you have a religious site, and promote religious software it is going to convert higher than an Anti-Virus application IMO.

Look at the top sellers in clickbank and paydotcom then look on google for similar products that are spending a lot of money on advertising.

Lots of advertising = popularity, they wouldn't spend money on advertising it if it wasn't worth it.
