On one site I have about $1-3 IPU. But that is because I sell SEO services on that site and the visitors are not many, but all insterested in SEO.
According to the poll so far, a lot of us aren't making the kind of money Shoemoney says we should. I have around 6,000 uniques on any weekday. According to Google Analytics, 90% or more are new (though I've only had GA running for two months, so maybe it's a little less). My IPU is about 3/4 of a cent. So are those of us not even close to 2 cents doing something wrong or is Shoemoney overly optimistic? Somehow I feel maybe it is us? If anybody could tell me what (non-sleazy) things I could do to get up to 2 cents per IPU, I'd hand them a big fat check..
Most likely not. Try to diverse your income. Affiliate links to returning users for instance. Working with affiliates is hard, but can earn you some extra cash besides adsense in the long run. I myself earn around 10-15% of what I get from adsense on affiliates. I dont spend much time fiddling with it though. By affiliate I dont mean those MLM-schemes. Think Amazon.
Then try to further diversify your income. CPM advertising - it doesnt have to affect your CTR overly negative. You can problably find a good price for a _extra_ banner somewhere you sell via paypal. Offer services - offer a unique service, information via sms, a locked section on your site etc. Take payments via SMS or Paypal.
Oh, sure, I sell other stuff through the site. I thought Shoemoney meant that ad network advertising should be worth 2-9 cents per ipu. If we're supposed to count *all* income then I'm well into that range.
