Great new term by ShoeMoney, IPU, Income Per Unique. Consider it stolen. http://www.shoemoney.com/2006/02/01/is-your-website-makeing-what-it-should-be I'm averaging 0.02 (barely) IPU per day. The lion's shares of clicks go to my leaderboard, distant second to my skyscraper, "can't even see it in the distance" ad links, and "did he even join the race" google search. What's your IPU? Is it a combination of high clicks and low payouts (like mine)? or low clicks and high payouts?
0.02 barely it is actually combination of low visits, low clicks and low payouts edit - btw i don't think it's remotely possible to get 1 IPU... that would mean that you get for example 100 $ a day from 100 uniques . Theoreticaly, every 10th visitor to the site would have to click on a 10 $ ad ... no way. I won't even mention 5 IPU LOL
If you are selling computers, for instance for $1000 ea. then to have $5 IPU you would need to sell one every 200 uniques... 0.5% conversion, still little high. if I had $5 IPU I would be posting on this forum from my own island right now
well, that's kinda what i said. since this is posted in the adsense forum i guess this means only adsense, not retail. i still think 1 is impossible, let alone 5.
Do you know your income for a certain month? Do you know your total unique visitors for that month? Put two and two together and there you have it.
A few people have asked me the difference between cpm and ipu Cpm is basically the amount of money you make per 1,000 impressions (impressions could be from the same user or for a bot or whatever. It just means the ad showed up this many times) IPU is your income per unique user that visits.
This kind of measure is quite uninteresting without knowing the context of the site. I average from < 0.01 (news), 0.02 (travel) to 0.05 (entertainment). <quote>Not even .01, too many return visitors</<quote> Funny, I thought return visitors would generate a higher IPU since a unique visitor is the SAME every time.
And on the high-end of the spectrum... Profit per time you get out of bed... Profit per inhalation. Depends on how bored you are getting with being rich We used to calculate our hourly wage in 'Beers per hour'. Whatever rocks your boat I guess.
yeah but as the same visitor comes back in 24 hours or a week he is considered unique again, depending on the stat program, cookies, etc
I started a similar thread quite a while back "How much is your visitors worth, but it got largely overlooked. With all my earnings from different ad networks taken into the equation I'm earning around $0.07. For just Adsense it will be more around $0.04 -$0.05
