What is your guys average lead conversion through AdWords such as filling out a form? Our lead conversion is very low on Yahoo, but high on Google I guess this falls under that category that adwords send the best traffic available on the web well targeted traffic anyways..
Long forms in general have lower conversions, while 20-30% conversion on a simple email or zip submit is easy to get. The traffic quality difference between networks is pretty hit or miss. Google on the whole performs well but sometimes Yahoo or MSN will perform better conversion wise. My hunch is that it relates to the market and search engine demographics but I have not really drilled things down to find any specific correlations. Be well.
I disagree, your traffic targetting depends on your keyword and ad copy. You can't say that google has more targetted traffic vs. yahoo.
Google always send more traffic at a better conversion we'll from my experience. I have tested 4 different markets with Yahoo Vs Goolge and Google converts pratically 50 percent higher. Have you used Yahoo?
Just a thought to ponder relative to ttd1984's testing experience. Could it be that Google is the more popular "mainstream" engine that appeals to the general buying public and Yahoo caters more to old school people who've been online a lot longer, are not so much shopping to buy, and have maintained their loyalty to the engine that they've been using forever?
The reason Google converts better for is because all there traffic comes from search. On Yahoo you have traffic coming from a bunch of search partners sites such as parked domains.
yahoo can also be highly targeted and very profitable, but you all have to realize, yahoo is not google and they perform very different from each other. Yahoo demographics, target audience and search traffic types is 200% different than googles, so if your trying to mirror Google successes directly to yahoo, there is a good chance its not going to perform the same.
