    Can anybody give me a rough explanation as to what rss is? I've searched the internet and this forum but I still can't get it in layman terms.

    Sorry for the thread hijack :(

    RSS = really simple syndication

    VERY simply put - it means grabbing a feed (a bunch of data) from another site and displaying it on yours.

    Take a look here:
    http://www.creditratewatchers.com/best-consumer-credit-cards.php

    If you scroll down and look for "Latest News" down at the bottom - that article is actually being fed onto the site from another source.

    What other specific questions do you have? That's the basic gist of it.

    Cheers bud :)

    Just to check I understand what you mean, using RSS feeds I could make a page on my website showing all the latest BBC news stories which updates every time they do?

    Yes, that's right. You need to find a feed and use an RSS reader to format it for display - but you're right.
