Definitely. I'm not above paying for a well-made game, but I have a tough time figuring out where "WoW Monthly Subscription" fits into my budget.

Runescape. The graphics aren't so good, but the gameplay is amazing making Runescape one of the best MMORPG's out there because it us updated daily, it's made in Java, it has a skill system, and the quests are outstanding. First of all, the developers update the game on a daily basis. Runescape was made in Java. Secondly, Runescape, compared to other MMORPGS that are usually made in c# or c++ is more portable, flexible, and easier to run. Furthermore, this was one of the very first MMORPG's to come up with a skill system where you could train stats other than combat and melee. In addition, quests in other MMORPG's are bland compared to the quests in Runescape. In WOW, most quests consist of gathering materials or just killing 5 or 10 of this monster and that's it. The quest is done. In comparison, Runescape features quests with unique content and backstories. In conclusion, Runescape may not the be the best MMORPG out there, but it's definitely worth a try.
World of warcraft fan as well but don't play anymore.. but I'm planing to start up again, "maybe" i like, rose online, flyff, silkroad as well. also tried Aion, but did not stick to it, i don't know i have been more into flash rpgs/text-rpgs lately mostly beacuse no hassle to install or etc.. just enjoy a small game But i will always be a WOW guy!! /MaxH.
I have been playing a new MMO called Linkrealms lately. It is a fun sandbox MMO that is definitely worth checking out.
All I can say is, "WoWsers!" There's a lot of WoW love going on here. Almost as if another MMORPG doesn't even exist! I kicked my WoW addiction to the curb the same day I typed "/played". Racking up 30 solid days of in-game time sobered me up right there. Gave away my gold and my purple gear and never looked back.
I hate to say it, but World of Warcraft undeniably takes the cake. I can't pinpoint what it is that Blizzard is doing that works so well, but they've uncovered the secret formula, for sure
My favorite MMO is Lordsgame.com It is non-time consuming, and the communications system and the community is great.
