    Wow at people recommending GoDaddy for a registrar... do you work for GoDaddy or something? GoDaddy has a horrible interface, always trying to add upsells that you don't need, takes forever to update nameservers etc... Only good thing about them is the $1 domain promotions they run sometimes. Oh yeah and WHOIS privacy costs like $10 there?

    Go for internetbs.net or namesilo.

    Both have FREE whois privacy.
    Nameservers are configured near enough instantly so no waiting around.
    Cheap prices... like $9 for a .com
    Good API
    Fast checkout process without all the shitty upsells GoDaddy and other registrars pressure you into buying
    Interface is so easy to use and navigate

    I think name.com is quite good and secure, I've been with them for about 15 domain bought and 2 years of running. Their CS are also good and helpful

    I use internetbs to buy domains as they are cheaper and their support is awesome. They do not have hosting which is good for me because I use Hostgator .
