just wondering what people here use as their main browser and what page they have set as their homepage. For me, Opera and Google.com
IE6 and Firefox......for general use I use IE6 and important stuff I use Firefox. I use three monitors so it is all neat and tidy. IE6 on one and Firefox on another. The third monitor usually has my Stockmarket software running. Cyclops.
So what actually makes Firefox different from internet explorer? I've heard quite good reviews and I'm wondering whether to ditch IE now...
Just try it, I'd say. It looks pretty much the same but behind the scenes it's coded a lot better. You can run it alongside first, you'll soon ditch IE. You can import all cookies, bookmarks and settings. See the FireFox homepage for more info.
Firefox - homepage is blank . Can't really stand having to load a default page when I want to go somewhere else. There are a few elemental things about Firefox that IE (on windows) can't do: - tabbed browsing - text zoom But the plethora of cool extensions are also very useful and on a Mac, Firefox is the only browser (I know of) that has a way of showing PR in the toolbar. I use Safari almost as much as Firefox still though.
Mines Google. I am a google addict. Mozilla FireFox is actually really good and i find it so much better than IE
Actually I find they both have good and bad points.....for instance on Firefox some things don't show up that show up on IE. Open the same page on both and you will see what I mean. Cyclops.
Sometimes it's not the browser's fault too If a webmaster has coded their site for IE only and not stuck to proper HTML standards, then some things might indeed not show up on Firefox. Or even worse, they've built in some horrible browser checking script that tells me to 'upgrade' .. grrr ..
