If you had to condense all of your knowledge for a successful Amazon site into one sentence, what would that one sentence be?

Don't try to be everything to everybody. Find a niche', or at least a target audience, and work the hell out of them.

I am currently not making my amazon venture work very well, but i guess 1 thing i've tested well enough is

work in a niche...review the products that you sell...if you are perceived as an expert in a niche and you review a product...then you are much more likely to sell the product...

Also develop your own products as soon as possible...

Remove ads from your Amazon site like adsense or other etc. Get more and more quality traffic to your website.

Your approach has to be like other type of Ads

    -Niche Audience
    -Good Placement
    -Integration with the Site

Another tip, is to choose products for desperate buyers. Those sell great.

If I had to say everything in one sentence it'd be: "Spend your time marketing, branding and building a website that focuses on the user experience".

    thanks,

It's odd, I've been working towards my niche and getting traffic, but the majority of products I sell through Amazon have nothing to do with my niche. I get affiliate credit because of the cookies, but only about 50% of my sales are directly related to my promotion efforts.

My advice: Stay away from Amazon. Too low commission rates compared to many other revenue sources. But, if you must pick Amazon, then pick a specific niche as someone else has already said. Do SEO since most of your buyers will come from Google.

    In-content text links.

There, that was less than a sentence. I'd dare call it a fragment, even. :)

Yup, when they first launched astores, I really though they would help me kick up those Amazon earnings, but no.

The sales I get from Amazon is from a specific niche. I think Amazon should be used as a last-resort affiliate program.
