    Alexa rank varies depending on the audience. The rank is collected by statistics from the tool bar that people can install.

    I once had a webmaster site with an Alexa rank of #200,000. This site had about 100 unique visitors everyday.

    I then did a comparison with my other site. This was a gaming forum comprised of teenagers. With 3,000 unique visitors a day, this site only had an Alexa rank of #100,000.

    I also had another gaming forum with 1,000 unique visitors and an Alexa rank of #500,000.


    If 100% of your visitors have the Alexa toolbar installed, then you have a high ranking site no matter what kind of traffic you get.

    If only 10% of your visitors have the toolbar installed, than your site with 10 visitors will have the same rank as the sites with 1 visitor with a toolbar.

    I stopped using Alexa to compare ranking for a long time. Looking at traffic is always more efficient.

    Addyoursitefreesubmit.com is in the 80k range as well. However due to FireFox and all of its plugins, ranking systems like that are totally false since Firefox blocks everything as being spam.
