Everyone has one, I emember being young and my mother telling me that everyone her age remembers where they were and what they were doing when Elvis died, or they landed on the moon. I feel 9/11 is the same thing. As for me, I was just waking up to begin my day. I was only 17 and a fresh high school graduate. My step father had just moved to a different city and I was going to be helping my Mom pack. I got a job doing outbound phone sales and was planning on staying in my hometown. Then my step Dad called and told my Mom to turn the news on because America was under attack. We both sat there on the couch for a few hours straight in complete shock. I still remember her bursting into tears when the towers began to fall down. I then tried to get a hold of work to find out if I had to come in, and if I did to quit as there was no way I could morally call people and try to sell them long distance after a day like this. I couldn't get ahold of anyone so I just stayed home and tuned into the news.
It was a Tuesday morning, and I didn't have any classes on Tuesdays. For some reason I got up early and was watching Sportscenter when they interupted with the news. My roommates and I watched it all morning. After the towers fell we went to get an early lunch. We watched some more coverage as we ate and then went outside and played catch with a football. The weather in New York was very pleasant that day. It was very surreal.
I heard about it at 2 in the afternoon (UK) when I was on a train from Leeds to Manchester. My first reaction as a ignorant British person was "What are the twin towers" :S I was so ashamed of myself
I was sitting exactly where I am sitting now. It was an average warm day, I came to work and someone came into our department and stated that a plane had flown into one of the towers. We didn't think anything of it but we went to the break room to see it for ourselves. I watched for a short time, and later on we heard the second one had been hit and at that point we knew. We watched the towers collapse live and it almost seemed unreal.
I saw the second plane fly into the second tower live on CNBC, the at about 10:00 am our computers locked with the live fotage of the first tower falling. Once they were locked we went home.
yes i remember exactly what i was doing. it was a tuesday morning, gorgeous weather, and i was on work experiance with a computer company at the time. they only had a radio so all we could do was listen to the radio for updates. it wasnt until i got home and saw the news that i realised the seriousness of what was happening before my eyes!
Saw it on the news. Reaction was "Woah, wtf!". Sat and watched the news for a good 3 hours or so. And that's it.
Actually i heard about it the next day, as I'm not that daily news checker , but since i heard the news i was sticked to the news channel!
I had just come home from night shift and everyone at home was watching on tv.That was the first i heard and watched through the night.
I was sitting at my computer workin on my eBay listings and listening to the radio when I first heard about it.
Was at School (in Science to be exact).... And someone (the teacher) had the news on the TV in their Office and there was a large group of teachers around the TV, and one student managed to see what had happened and told the rest of us, went home and watched it on the news all night.
i was very close to it when that happened... i was close to my tv!! actually i was getting ready to go to school ...the rest of the went off talking about the incident!!
I was in like 4th grade, and none of the teachers told us what had happened, but I knew somehting was wrong. Thats all!
Think I was in the 4th Grade as well, or year 4 as we call it in the UK (Or around that age) And I was going up to the teachers desk to get my work marked and a teacher wheeled in a tv and we all just stared. Mostly because us little'uns had no idea what was going on and the chance to watch the tv was to good to be true.
I was at work and headed to the NY waterfront to see what was happening. All you could see was smoke.
I had just gotten out of the Army (less than a month earlier) and was starting my new job the following monday.
My VISA to US was canceled coz of the stupid attack by some Ass**** and was delayed by more than 3 months...Hate that day. Ace Tuku
