Here is my site ihavetalents.com I pay facebook ad, I try to promote it through myspace and youtube. I really put effort in this site, I did everything to make it good and attractive. I explain to people on frontgpae little bit about site. I use google analytics and I see that bounce rate is 65.85%, quite bad right? Few people did register, but just few. What is wrong? When visitors come to site do they just see site and say: "Nothing is here, no content, nothing. I wont stay." or what?
I can think of a few things - firstly - that you're just not targeting tightly enough. But even if you do that - the site is a little clumsy - the English isn't awful, but it doesn't flow, and gives a slightly unprofessional impression. But mostly, I think you're trying to fill a vacuum that doesn't exist. Why would a band or singer put their video on your site, rather than youtube or myspace?
One thing you need to realize that the majority of people out there are shy. I see that you have 84 backlinks or so with most of them being forums you may want to attempt to seek out webmasters in your niche and collaborate your marketing plans though now a days it seems everyone is out for number 1 Another thing I noticed is you probably use fire fox or something besides internet explorer because when I opened your page I noticed one of the pictures overlapping the words, I had the same problem except in my site it was oppisite I built it for internet explorer and it looked bad in fire fox. Now I would recommend finding some musical forum and getting your name out there. Write articles, send out press releases, write articles about music, it seems you already are on digg I noticed that when I checked your backlinks. One more thing I would suggest to you is the site seems to be targetted to only singers, bands, and other musicians>>this is a very small niche so don't expect very many sign ups unless you broden your site letting all music lovers can participate rather than just musicians. Now I think they can, but I just wanted to give you my impression when I gave your site a quick look over. The big thing is to really dig in to the music niche anyway I hope this helped
