I have been having trouble with copyscape for two days straight. I am getting this error: Your search could not be completed, since the Google API did not respond to Copyscape's requests. Please try again or come back later if this keeps happening. We apologize for the inconvenience.
i also looking for the solution no one replying for that webconfs has utility that can compare two site not wider view like copyscape.com
If we lose the use of copyscape it will definitely make things more difficult. I have a premium account, I wonder of they will be making refunds if they dont get this issue resolved? Does anyone know of any other reliable methods of checking for plagiarism/unique content?
COPYSCAPE is officially down, I have Premium account to check my Article Packs with. This is what they posted just recently on their site: Status Update - Sunday October 14th, 11.55am EST: We are working to restore Copyscape service for our users as soon as possible. We have isolated and identified the issue: a specific communications problem between our servers and the Google API servers. We have discussed this in detail with Google, and they are now working on it. Our customers rely on Copyscape for dependable, high-quality plagiarism detection service, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We are working with Google to restore service as soon as possible. The Copyscape Customer Support Team
I hope this issue is soon resolved. I rely on Copyscape to check for duplicate content whenever I hire a new writer and have not built a relationship with them yet. If I find any good alternatives, I will post them here.
I would have thought that this won't take too long to fix, 2 days max. Copyscape loses a lot of money for every hour their service is down.
I have been so frustrate with them I use them on a daily basis but I am beginning to think Google might had pull the plug. Its been 5 days I think!
I have a premium account with Copyscape and YES, I use it as well to check all content. I have also used EVE 2.5 but I am not thrilled with this program as it is overly sensitive or not sensitive enough, depending on the topic. Copyscape, come back soon...please!
Read between the lines. Google has more than likely banned the service. Their quote 'We are working with Google to restore service as soon as possible' is double speak. Sounds like google wants a share of the pie.
I am sure that this tool takes up quite a lot of Google's resources. I dont know if Google is "pulling the plug" or not, but if they do we will need some alternative way to check content. I too have a premium account with Copyscape and use it quite often
Google would be stupid to pull the plug on Copyscape, unless they have a tool of their own in development. It goes against their "do no evil" mantra to break a tool that helps people find copyright violators, and that would be really bad publicity for them. It may also help them in terms of preventing the web being quite so full of duplicate and semi-duplicate content.
Woohoo! Yeah Copyscape! Yes, I just checked it out and was coming on here to post the good news. Thanks!
Hooray! I just about gave up the other day when I couldn't get it to work. That wasn't fun....copyscape is essential!
Why not use Google to verify if an article is copied or not? Just copy/past a part of the article or the whole article in the search box ...
Google and Copyscape return slightly different results. Basically with Google you're limited searching for a certain number of words, which I believe is currently 30. Whereas with Copyscape you enter a whole page, so I presume it searches the entire text of that page. I think Copyscape tends to be a bit over-zealous, in that it will flag up pages with only partial text matches where your page has been quoted using only a sentence or two. But it's also smart enough to flag as duplicate pages where one or two words have been substituted from a short paragraph.
