Ok so I recently joined clickbank and I read their FAQs and somewhere it say they will only pay you if you receive at least 5 sales, with one Visa Credit Card and One MasterCard. Can someone plz explain to me the reasoning behind this?
They want to make sure that you do not register, buy few things using your own aff link, get your check - then get every product refunded... this would be my reasoning for 5 sales.. As to credit cards? I have no idea why they do it...
I think the two different credit cards is just to try and increase the difficulty in someone doing exactly what alexs464 just said. It's just to keep people from scamming the system really.
You would be surprised at how many people who saw something they wanted to buy through ClickBank then realize if they did it through an affiliate link, they would get the product that much cheaper (one they got the check of course). The payment policy is just to maintain the integrity of the system and prevent this scenario. ClickBank figures if you have five sales, one of which being Visa and one being Mastercard, that the likelihood that they are all your sales just to get products cheaper is quite slim. I would like to point out though that for your first five, PayPal transactions do not count. It has to be five credit card sales, with one Visa and one Mastercard before your first check will be released. Also check your payment release threshold as well. If it is set higher than your check is worth, they will hold the funds until you meet the threshold. The lowest threshold is $10 and any one should be able to reach that. Lastly, this 5 sales thing only applies to the FIRST check. After that, the only thing stopping a check from being sent out is your threshold.
