I've got no problem with people who are genuinely attempting to speak English, no matter how badly they mangle it - but as soon as I see 'plz' or 'u r' etc then I lose interest. If people know enough English to use txt spk, then they know enough to use real English. As for everyone else who can speak English, you're just feeding the Suggest Me Plz monster when you use txt spk or lazy grammar on forums. ----- Dears, suggest me plz?
No they don't ! For example - I can write anything in English, very fast, but when it comes to speaking - bams .. I can't think even a word ! Where's the problem ?
Wat is evry one griping about oh you no use a comma were comma shold go. Ass lng as peps understnd Inglish jst fine moter fuker.
Nothing to be ashamed about having English as the 2nd or 3rd language, the most important is to take every opportunity to write more and speak more English, you will naturally be better with practice.
Try using capital letters and avoid text type like 'plz'. I think people become less annoyed by grammar mistakes if users pay attention to basic punctuation.
Practice makes perfect they say, it seems not around here. Many members never improved on their English. They said they didn't care, but it clearly hindered them in the marketplace as it looked like lack of professionalism.
The point is to 'communicate' is it not? Whatever legal means is used to convey one's true message should be more than acceptable. I'm just sayin...
Wells, its just styles to is speak bad englishes, I likes its lots of, I think is hope all to you like it too
I think i can call myself to the bad grammar people, as my first language is german I had English like..5 years or so in school, but well at that point i had no intentions to learn it properbly. The way i write now comes from online gaming, bad grammar, all lowercase, shortened etc. But once i started to make websites i thought about a little more and was a little more careful how i write stuff. Overall i still have problems writing the right stuff uppercase, but its getting better and better i think I hope the people understand me a little bit
I disagree Communication is always a MUST! and I agree that's it's annoying to read some of the threads in the forums.. If the grammar is bad enough, I don't even look at the content..
The English on DP is absolutely terrible in every single way. I can't think of another place/forum where the English is worse.
The simple fact is that the quality of your post or a pm goes a long way in being considered for a writing job. I realize that a lot of the members here don't have English as a first language and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if they're trying to get writing jobs and the op wants English and correct grammar, then they're not going to do very well.
