What's with Supp Index on this PR update?

Seeing lots of sites with 100% of pages in Supplemental index. Sites that had none or next to none of their pages in Sup before. But it also looks like it is not affecting SERPs, yet.

Could be just a temporary glitch while the latest PR update is ongoing. I sure hope so.

    Anyone else seeing this.

Yes, seeing 80% plus supplemental results for sites that had none before.

Definitely something going on. Like you say, hopefully just a glitch during the latest toolbar PR update.

I have noticed something very interesting today.

With the latest PR update, we had two new, neglected sites (no real effort go into link building, as we generally use them for test/control sites) go from Pr0 to PR3. These sites have now been de-indexed or in completely in the supps.

We had good solid credible sites, with high value PR backlinks drop from PR5 to PR4 / PR 3. Those sites are still in the index, and one sites traffic is exploding (up 400%) even with the exact same SERP results as it has had for the past few weeks.

Very weird stuff. It is like up is down, and down is up.

What has shocked me is that some of these supplemental pages are even showing up as google backlinks. Wonder what's going on with that.

Is it just me or does my SEO Book firefox tool thingy ma jig not display sup results properly. When using that tool I'm seeing 100% pages in sup but when I got to google and do a site: search I see there not in Sup?

A lot of my pages went supplemental recently, but it seems the more that go supplemental, the more daily traffic I've been getting. I almost feel the same way about page rank ... I don't care if it goes down, as long as my traffic goes up. My inner pages have great conversion rates, but I'm not in a rush to build links to them. I'll wait a week to see if Google settles down.

What largely determines Supp results is either Dup content and/or lack of backlinks/PR or general page strength. If you had alot of pages go Supp recently there's a good chance Google is devaluing some of your backlinks or simply you have lost some.

If your getting unrelated recip links simply for "PR Juice" you can expect more of the same in the upcoming months.

I seen 2 GIANT sites get slammed in my field!!

I have one just now recovering and some how made it through this round.

This sup thing is getting ugly and is the main reason I finally joined this forum.

That's the weird part for this site, the PR just went from 0 to 3 with yesterday's update. So if it is a PR thing, why would it happen so quickly after getting PR3? (The pages have not been in the sup before).

It's not a duplicate content thing, as the content is original.
There are no recip links involved.

I don't think this site deserves a PR3 so it may be that the PR is taken away... Which seems a bit fast, perhaps a sign of a double PR update/correction like in January?
