Go with what works, we're not doing this to impress other affiliate marketers, we are here to GET SALES.
First, you have to think like the customer, not like yourself. of course you wouldn't read the whole thing and buy the product at the end (a product which, you're right, is often a scam... or falls far short of what's promised, at least) but you're not an average (or below average) consumer, either. Beyond that, it's all about numbers & driving traffic. If you can drive 1000 clicks very cheaply to the site, even if only a handful of those people actually buy something, it's still a profit.
