Hi seriously who cares about family friendliness. More than 20% of people are getting divorced. More than 90% of people have swinger personalities. Adsense is losing big dollars to maintain an unrealistic family friendly culture. Do you know how much money they lost on youtube just cuz of maintaining family friendly videos. Publishers lost earnings cuz of PSA.
My apologies, but would you be comfortable sending your son or daughter, or even wife to youtube with adult ads all over? If so, then yeah, who cares.
microsoft and yahoo is not imposing family friendliness, only Google. And this year Youtube earnings are immaterial. People are downloading terabytes of youtube videos for free. A billion dollar gone thanks to family friendliness. i know that the founders of Google are from friendly family, but that is their own personal lives not the world and they are doing business to the world. Publishers have a hard time determining whether their contents are family friendly. Sometimes domains are bought only later realized it is not family friendly. $9 gone per person.
What are you on about? They'd make some short term money on adult ad's but then when the education/corporate networks block it and people stop visiting sites running the adverts then they've screwed up big time for a get rich quick scheme. And that will happen. Like most people I have no trouble getting laid/good porn for free so I tend to avoid anything smutty unless I'm looking for something smutty as it's generally bad news and run by people after a quick buck who'll have no problem trying to plant crap on your computer. Better to have a little bit out of a big cake then a big bite out of a small cake.
