What's up with WP 2.3.3? Who's using it, and what does it do?

I am a little upset the i have to update yet another WP installation, but first, I want to know,

    Who here has upgraded?

    What is the biggest benefit?

And....has anyone found any bugs or differences that will really tick me off?

Lastly, how many of you will wait a while...just to see if there is a flaw, or if 2.3.4 comes out in March?

I always update immediately, especially when there is a major security flaw/bug discovered as was with 2.3.2.

I just looked at their download package and updated any files that were modified. Took one minute per blog. :)

I upgraded. I haven't noticed anything different. I think it was just a security and bug update so most if not all changes won't be noticeable.

All it requires are file changes-no database upgrade.

I would recommend you to upgrade if your blog allows registration as it is a security upgrade that will prevent any modification to your posts via hacking your xmlrpc file.

Also, if you are using third party blog writing software such as Windows Live Writer, I would recommend you to upgrade as well.

I upgraded, and like the people above me I haven't seen anything different.

But I do allow people to register on my blog, so I figured I would update just to be safe.

No matter what 2.4 is going to be here. The admin panel is going to have a design change.

I upgraded and for some reason it appeared to break the google sitemaps plugin I had installed, after a lot of messing about activating and deactivating plugins I found this was at fault. I was getting 404 errors after posting but the post was submitted OK when I checked further, figured there were maybe other issues so had to de-activate. Didn't do this before I upgraded.

404 errors sounds like a .htaccess problem rather than a sitemap problem.

I'm getting real tired of doing all of these updates.

Where is the page that lists the files that were changed in 2.3.3? I can't find it.

The fixed version of the xmlrpc file can be found here.
Other fixes can be found here.

I'd recommend upgrading. There's really no difference in functionality, it's just a few bug fixes. If you have registration open (which I'm sure a lot of people have) then the least you can do is get the new xmlrpc file. The rest of the upgrade isn't as important.

What is the simplest way of updating your blog? I'm doing it manually right now and it sucks!

Do I have to copy the contents of every subfolder to the server to make sure I don't copy over any modifications I've made?!

I never had a problem with any of my posts before I upgraded and now when I post I have one huge paragraph. The only way for me to fix it is to add 2 spaces after each paragraph. Not sure why everything is moving up one space when I hit post but it's aggravating as hell.

this is the most effective way, there's a plugin that automatically does it for you, but I don't trust it. Usually, the only one you have to back up is your templates folder (I also backup the plugins one, too). Most people don't mess with the core files, although I've done it to a small degree.

However, the templates folder has the files that are directly affected every time you make a change to the look & feel of your site, since it has the stylesheet, header, footer, main index template, etc
