What's up with my vista ultimate 64? (Importing videos from device)

    I would connect a sony camcorder via firewire. It would launch an import wizard. Everything would work fine for a minute or so but then out of nowhever the video screen goes blank and any attempt to save the video i have already captured would give me "the video was not imported correctly... bla bla bla"

    If i restart the cam everything works fine but the capturing screen is blank and the same error occures.

    The only solution is to restart vista. Everything would then work again... For a minute...

    Does anyone know what might be wrong? Someone mentioned a firewire bug on vista where it would go to sleep or something.
