What's up with google?

I have a bunch of websites that were on the first and second pages of goog and now nothing??? I go to Yahoo and there on the first page there. I still have a very few on the first page of goog but not the rest of them. I updated all my wordpress to the new one and seems like that was when things started to disapear. Maybe there is something to that. I did notice that when I updated, my permalinks setting changed from %postname% to %postname%.html so I went back to change it. Any thing to that? Thanks

I've experienced that one too bro.. I think we've been hit by Google Panda.. all my keywords ranking on 1st page was gone.

Sounds like you are getting filtered our somehow. If you have quality content then sometimes getting more links helps.

Yes since the Google panda update rankings are out of control. If you have less than 1,000 words of good content on your page then I would recommend adding more content. If you already have lots of content then you need more links to your site.

I have similar problem with one of my sites (a particular page). From a stable position 3-4 on first page it is now nowhere to be found...
I did nothing much recently except putting more content to that page, there are ~15 absolutely unique and related articles there. Did not purchase any links...nothing.
And all this happened long after the last Panda updates.

A similar story with one of my main sites - from 2nd position on 1st page, it is now gone to page 4...

No idea what's the problem. Looks like a penalty, but there is no reason for such at all.
Also noticed that some strange and not really quality sites rank on the top positions (talking about the 1st case).

This is the experience that almost everybody is experiencing lately. My 2-3 keywords are completely out of the search results, rankings have changed drastically. Now I am more careful in making links and also I am concentrating more on the content of my website. By reading some posts on Webpronews and Techchrunch I thinks this is due to the new freshness update by Google.
Lets see how much time it takes to recover from this !

The second site I have mentioned recovered after a month or so, but only for around a week.
The first one is nowhere to be found. Actually, some unrelated pages from it appear in page 6-7 for the particular keywords, but not the page that was used to be in the top positions...
At the other hand some other of my sites, on which I do not put much effort, raised from the nothing to page one!

So google wants us now to write more than 1,000 words?! Geeez. Google is so hard to please these days.

I definitely agree that most of the top rank websites has no quality content either! but has a lot of comments. So is Google now counting based on the number of words?!
