vBulletin doesn't use any bandwidth unless you have visitors (and it will be based on how many visitors you have of course). But as an example, this forum, which has been optimized as much as possible for low bandwidth usage (both at the vBulletin and PHP/Apache level) used 126GB last month.

That's not too bad considering how busy this forum is.

I think the bigger issue is server load and not bandwidth.

Yeah, if I didn't take advantage of some things, the forum would probably use closer to 1TB/month.

It makes that much of a difference?

Any major optimizations you should do for VB? I haven't really looked into it, because my forum is still very small so it's not using a lot of bandwidth right now.

The best thing you can do is make sure you are using zlib compression.

I will, thanks. If there's a button for it, I can use it.

Hmmm. I hadn't thought about server load. Is vB likely to use more than 10% of server resources on a shared server? Obviously, the number of people using it jas a lot to do with that ...

It's the stock vBulletin "theme"... other than some CSS color changes.

I think disk size can be another problem if you are hosting at remote server.

How much more does zlib compress it than GZIP compression level 1?

For 'Add No-Cache HTTP Headers' should that be a yes, or no? I got a yes.

    zlib *is* gzip compression.

No-Cache headers set to "Yes" is probably the best thing for a forum since it's dynamic.
