Whats the word on .jp domains

    I am considering investing in some .jp domain names. I found a couple sites with .jp domains for sale for $1,000+ but haven't found any sites where you can view .jp purchase history. Are .jp domains expected to increase in value/popularity as time goes on?

    The situation is really strange in Japan. I saw lot of good sites with weird names, for example:
    _http://igo-kisen.hp.infoseek.co.jp/_
    They don't care about short names at all, it seems

    Highly search engine reliant afaik, so domains are less important there.
