What's the value of getting a new domain with keywords

I already have an existing domain that I am working on backlinking for keywords and seo. I was wondering if getting a domain with keywords would be worth it. How would I pass PR between the two?

keyword rich domains are lot easier to rank than non-keyword rich domains. search engines pay a lot of weight on the keyword in the domain name. if you already have a domain name and working on link building for that domain already for a while, then not sure it will worth the trouble moving your domain. some people register kw rich domains and use 301 redirection to move the old domain to the new one. all depends on how your competition is for the keywords you are targeting. with proper link building, you can rank any site regardless of having the keyword in it or not. having the keyword in the domain just makes it a little easier.

having a keyword rich domain helps for a site to rank very fast in search engines result pages than non- keyword domain. So whenever you have to register a domain choose keyword rich.

So would a 301 redirect from a keyword rich domain to my current domain help?

Yes, keywords in your domain make it go up. Especially if you have an "exact match domain", which has keywords IN it. Won't be for long though now that it's common practice.

Well, it will as long as you promote that keyword-rich domain.

I follow you. Promoting both would be a bad idea for seo I'm guessing, since you'd be fighting yourself. I appreciate all the input.

We cannot transfer or pass the PR value/ranking to other websites/pages. We need to do SEO for every website and it is only the way to get good PR. And getting a domain name with a keyword is helpful and is easy to build the brand online. people ll be attracted to the domain name (keyword) than the normal domain names.
