I agree with you on this. Taking Stan Lee's quote - "With great power comes great responsibility." - Dynashox -
agreed ^ back before webmastering, i used to want to be a mod on some forums, no idea why, now, though
First thing that came to my mind too. No offense to moderators but I also think people who choose to become moderators do so because they're failing at everything else in life. Why else would anyone give up so much of their time for something that doesn't pay? Edit: just realized that it sounded a little rude. If anybody is a moderator, please share what you gain by moderating.
heh. That's what they think. There's still a level above them. Even two in fact. The admins and the hosts/ owner.
i hate them cause some abuse or in proper usage .... i pity them, they get a lot complaint and challenge without pay Security for the forum with out pay and handle a lot of bullshit (some from me )
the use of being a moderator is to a delete spam post, give infractions to members who violating forum rules, and to banned members who continue violating rules. that its
Yes. Our salary is based on infractions. The more infractions we issue the more we get paid. No joke.
Maybe it's because they are successful in other areas of life, and because of that they have time and resources to be able to give back a little. Or maybe they are just a little bit OCD and can't stand to see threads in the wrong forums and such and they want to be able to have the capabilities to put stuff where it belongs.
I can well believe it. Haha. In all seriousness though you probably should get paid something to do it - particularly in a forum as large and profitable as DP. I imagine it's a pretty hard slog having to deal with hundreds of reported posts every day.
