What's the Quickest way to gain 1/2 positions?

    Guys,

What's the Quickest way to gain a few positions for a given keyword on Google? I am currently on top of the second page and I only need a little push to fall on the 1st... the high season (in our business) is coming in 1 month so I need my website to be there for eventual customers, I don't have time to engage in complex changes and restructuring, I need a quick way of gaining a few positions to be there for this high season. After that I don't mind dropping in the rankings because the season will be low so I will take time to do proper optimization and possible restructure the whole site.

    Thanks!

links to your site with relevant text ... if need be buy them.

Links with the title txt of the link is the easy way to get up'ed a few pages.

If at all possible relevant sites , they will work best.

Try putting your pages in in sig files in forums.... although may not be quick enough.

If it has to be QUICK short term, only way is PPC... buy adverts.

there is nothing I hate more than someone telling me to read the google guidelines LOL

come on man, we're all on the same boat here... don't tell me to read the guidelines :)

what I meant by quickest way is maybe quick but not necessarily the best for solid long-term results... Someone sent me a private suggesting Black Hat techniques... I'm not really interested in getting banned... but would be open to some "Light-grey Hat" techniques maybe... :)

How about investing a bit in purchasing some quality backlinks then? It will be worth it in long run, and of course give you the boost you need for your season.

And not much of restructuring - but a good internal linking system, and proper PR sculpting will be very effective depending the size of your site, as well, how much more you need to overthrow that #1.

-->PM site if you want me to take a look at it : ))

I'm not sure what exactly can help as I'm not sure about competitors. But, links from related sites will surely help you to improve rankings.

Getting quickly on top usually turns up as getting out of competition sooner. Be careful, & good luck.

Try to get quality back links on sites that update their content regularly for the fastest results. if you have time to spare then you can always do directory submissions.

Links are going to be having the first and last word in the SEO world and they cannot be added to the websites overnight and you need to be patient and work on your link building tactics with attention and gradually.

You provided the answer yourself: there are a couple of technique which can bring quick, but short-lived results. What they will also bring is a good kick from google, and it's not you who defines the shade of the hat. Being on the second page and mess it up? I don't think so.
