So, in blog comments, should I be using my keywords for my name, since that's what the site url links to? Or will the blog owners delete those types of comments? I feel 'dirty' when I use keywords instead of my name, seems like blatent comment spam to me, lol... Should I be putting html in the actual comment that links to my site, or is that even possible? Otherwise, how good is the backlink if it doesnt have keywords?
The proper way is to leave a comment that is relevant and please do not spam using your keywords as your name etc. Good or no good is one thing, if you feel it is no good don't post. Do not go around spamming other blogs. I doubt you will like it too if others do the same to you.
Personally as a blog owner, I don't normally allow comments with links in the content area unless it is relevant to the conversation taking place. With regards to using keywords vs. name, well it depends and I don’t think it would make that much a difference to an average blogger unless you use a keyword which they find offensive or undesirable. Having said that, I almost always use my own name while commenting.
The proper way is to use your name. Many blogs will allow you to use nicknames which you could create using a connected keyword. As stated above, the key is to comment only when you have something good to say and not just spam blogs. Be on topic and add something to the post. I never mind giving back links as long as the commenter took the time to address the post. If they write stuff like "nice blog", "great idea' " very interesting", or other generic comments, I delete them. If you want a good link, be willing to at least read the post and leave a worthy comment. As far as links in the content area. They are normally all no follow and many blog owners delete all those. I will allow them only if I ask for a link such as when I was creating a directory list.
.. hehe, yes I should have specified, that yes these are/will be relevent comments.. just wanted to make sure I'm posting my backlinks in a way that are friendly and will be kept..
Just post your back links as relevant as possible, do not think of SEO at this point, think of how it fits into your comments and the blog.
I just use common sense. To be honest most commentators are there because of backlinks but I don't mind because they contribute to my blog and encourage discussion. After webmastering for so many years and even doing industrial scale spamming myself, I know all the tricks spammer use. So I feel like your comment is no use to me or my readers I will probably delete it straight away.
Most blogs like you to use name. Look at other approved comments if they are keywords and approved as long as comment. Make sure comment is related and adds to the post and you should be ok.
Keep it relevant, stay on topic; you'll be fine. Get a list of forwarding domains under your belt that cover a finite area, to expand your customer base possibilities... The tough part is keeping them at your site once they arrive. If you just shotgun your efforts to everywhere, you'll get crappy feedback come time for analytics. You get high bounce rates, low pageviews, and short view times when your viewers are wanting something else that you dont provide.
Just post your back links as relevant as possible, do not think of SEO at this point, think of how it fits into your comments and the blog........
First, make sure that your comment will be worthwhile, not just your average "me too!" comment. Next, look at other people's comments. If you see a keyword being used as their name, chances are the blog owner tolerates the use of keywords. Don't be too greedy, though. Make your character count as reasonable as possible.
I don't even notice the name sometime, I just make sure the comment is good/relevant, or click the spam stick (lol the spam link) and its gone .
Don't post a link in the actual comment section itself..... some places let you use your keywords as the "name" and some dont, look at other commenters to see whats accepted and whats not on each individual site.
Try to make your comment as relevant as possible and don't' just comment for backlinks, place your link if it is relevant to what the post is about and you will likely get approved by the blogger.
