    Pay attention to what successful marketers do (not just what they say), and emulate them. Success leaves clues! You don't have to be the best or brightest marketer to observe what works for others and model your marketing after theirs.

    Finish what you start. Don't get caught in the "doom loop" of trying something, getting marginal results, giving up too soon and starting something new. It's a terrible waste of time.

    Look for profitable markets, first, THEN develop products (or offers... or content) that solve their problems. Don't put the cart before the horse!

    Get halfway-decent at writing copy. You can get a free world-class education in ad writing by reading all the back issues of The Gary Halbert Letter. Don't get hung-up on writing eloquently and don't underestimate the importance of simply saying what you have to say. Remember that your offer is by far the most important element in your copy. Get it right and you can fumble your way through your sales letter and still get the sale.
