Whats the next step?

Just got finished with my site: www.cheateasy.com and also just got accepted to adsense. But the site is still brand new, and not much traffic to speak of. What would be my first step to getting some traffic? I was thinking of getting some affiliate links, but I don't see how other cheat site's links could actually help much.

If you have any suggestions on how a video game cheats website can promote traffic, please post here.

    Thanks!

    getting traffic huh.

Well, your not going to be happy becuase for all of the work you do this month and next month will not pay off with traffic, pr, or revenue, but you need to spend a lot of time link building so that you can relax to the good traffic in a couple of months.

    1. submit to directories by the hundreds. here's a list http://www.echoarcade.com/directory.php

    2. submit artilcles to article directories.

    3. look for forums that you can advertise at, or add in your link to the siggy. Do a google search for forums that are like your site.

    4. Reply to blogs. Tons of them. You get great links from that, and it gets you traffic.

    5. make sure your metatag is in good shape and use the keywords in a paragraph on your main page (onsite SEO).

    6. exchange links with sites that are like yours.

    Hi there,
I also had a identically page (about massive online games) some years ago here in germany. It should be not that hard to get some links and visitors for your page.

First of all, you should build some pages for the best sold (or most played) new games. Im not sure what they currently are, but i think you know. Put some tricks, cheats or whatever on it (relevant information beside cheats also counts - everything a visitor could love to see about this game).

Second : Look out for fanpages for the game(s). There should be tons. (Or for massive games get in contact with guilds and clans). Ask for link exchange, or if they already got pages for game-relevant links, ask if they place a link to your site too.

If you are done with that. Ask other cheat and tricks pages, if they want to do a link exchange (I think you need a pr 3 on your main page for that).

My Tip : concentrate only on a few high selling (and new) games and try to build for every game 4-5 "landing pages". If you are doing well, you can get a good listing at google for every of this game.

If you try to get all games its hard to stay on track and get many visitors on the long run.

And : try to get some press contacts with major companys. If you run a nice site, that should be no problem. I had contacts with nearly all companys here in germany and got free games for our visitors, press releases and tons of other stuff (artwork, pictures, beta accounts and so on).

I wish you luck for your project and sorry for my english. I have to work on that in the future.

Submitting your URL to Google and MSN will help. Put an ad on Craigslist w/ your URL. Also answer some questions on Yahoo Answers. Both Craigslist and Yahoo Answers will give you a huge traffic jolt.

Adverising will get traffic to your website.

You’ll want to advertise in as many social communities as you can. Preferably ones that don’t mind you advertising your business a little on the profile. Don’t use myspace. Some really good social places that have become really popular are digg.com, del.icio.us.com, technorati.com, facebook.com, furl.com, spurl.net, and reddit.com to name a few. Social places like this, can bring in more than a quarter of your online business. They have millions of members. Go make some friends. Tell your friends in the social community about what you do online for business. You are sure to get a lot of repeat customers. People that know you, tend to return more often than if they didn’t know you.

You could also write articles. Content is king and millions of articles are read everyday. Millions of online businesses advertise through writing articles everyday. Just find an article website and get to work. Try and make your articles interesting and original so they keep reading. I use ezinearticles.com, searchwarp.com, ideamarketers.com, & goarticles.com.

Join some forums and newsgroups related to your business material. Forums and newsgroups are a great place to meet people related to the content your business involves. Newsgroups and forums will have people with the same interests as you. Use those signatures. Throughout forums or just about anywhere online, there is a place to put a signature.

Every time you post something, try and give your experienced opinion on the matter. If you succeed to show your expertise in certain areas, people will understand that you know what you are talking about and trust your word a little more. Then when they see your signature is related to the subject matter you are talking about, they would be more likely to click the link to your business.

    Hope this helps.
