What's the mother of all web stats programs?

I've been checking out different stats program and found nothing that suits my needs.

One feature that was missing in every product I tested was referrer productivity testing. E.g., statistics about all visits from a speicifc referrer.

I personally like Statcounter for a paid version. Has a bunch of information on the users.

For free version I like AWStats that updates on command. None of that waiting 24 hour to update crap.

    Google Analytics is great.

Also it makes you feel special if you are one of the few who get an invite.;)

Unfortunately Awstats doesn't show you the keyphrases from each individual search engine that people are finding you through - it just tells you the keyphrase, and then gives stats in another area about which search engines are delivering the most traffic.

I would of thought knowing what keyphrases people are finding you through on each individual search engine would be a bog standard thing for decent webstats... shame it's not!

I use my own-grown PHPCounter for analytics. Very detailed stats.

In your opinion, is awstats better then extreme-tracking? I use free extreme, and I complain because it only shows last 20 visitors tracking.

Don't know about the best, but one of the worst would have to be the Godaddy stat package that they sell for around $40 per per annum. It's next to useless.

"What's the mother of all web stats programs?"

Not cheap in comparison to other products mentioned in this thread but www.coremetrics.com is awesome.

Checkout Tracksite. I was using it for quite a long time now, and can say that measuring referer productivity is definitely what you can do with it. I calculate number of views per visitor for each referrer separately, see what pages are most popular among visitors from specific referrers, plus conversion rates to few key targets. Occasionally do this for most frequent search phrases too (it gives search terms per page and per engine).

I am kind of in the same boat in that I am looking for a stats program that meets all my needs. I am giving OneStat a spin for 4 weeks to see what happens. The good thing about the OneStat trial is they do not require a credit card to start the trial.

I'm gonna have to say Google Analytics will be some day. For now, I'd have to say AWStats is the mother of all stats programs because just about everyone has it, and most use it. Check out the stats people post in the FS section for example... 99% AWStats. It ain't the best, but it's the most used.
