What's the most you've ever paid for a link advertising your site? I am seriously considering advertising my site at collegehumor.com. They seem to charge $600 for a link per month, but if they send enough traffic I could earn more than that with the CPM banners I have on my site.
I have had a "Hot Link" from them and I recommended Baz to submit his humour site, he also received a Hot Link which was free and brought in close to 10k uniques in a day, just a temp boost. I did advertise using a small banner on CH but it did not pay for itself in my case. I am sure the small banner was a lot less than $600. I pay $400 per month for advertising on one site at present, every month for over one year, its a small advert rather than a link though.
Is that hot link the one that costs $600? So, you'd recommend advertising there? Since my site is teen oriented I guess it would be a good place to put up my link, but I would need to get at least 10k daily uniques from them I don't understand what you mean with "just a temp boost", care to elaborate?
No the hot link is free, I submitted my humour site and it appeared on the Hot Links for free which gave me 8k, 6k, 4k visitors for 3 days. Also Baz, who frequents this forum has a humour website so I told him to submit his site and he got a hot link for free which gave him almost 10k unique in one day. The hot links only appears for a few days I think and then works it's way down and out so it was a temporary boost but free traffic. I also paid for a small banner on CH, can remember how much it cost, but it didnt pay for itself with the site I used at that time. I do know after speaking to Baz that his site was then featured on other sites/forums as a result so it would be a good backlink booster and traffic booster.
http://www. collegehumor. com/submit/ You can submit a hot link for free using the url above, maybe worth a try first.
Turns out they charge $750 and your link stays up until you get 10,000 clicks. That is a ridiculous price to pay, considering that you are getting visited by teens. I thought the link would stay there for a month no matter how many clicks you got.
