I've been reading that for keywords that cost over $50 the publisher ends up making less than $5.00 ... is this true? On average for a high paying keyword with an average to above average site (content wise) what sort of revenues could you expect with yahoo (or adsense)? What is the most anybody's seen on a keyword? Thanks everyone, feedback very much appreciated. L.G.
Yeah thats true, the most I've ever got on a click is about $2, but its generally only around $0.20. It depends what PPC you're with; Yahoo pays a little more than adsense (but adsense usually has more relevant ads so more clicks). I've found that adsense etc don't really generate that much revenue compared to affiliate programs, you're better off with email submits which pay around $1 - $3 from an affiliate network (although I have heard of others having a lot of success with adsense). It also depends on your site's niche, if you have a really popular niche you tend to get a lot more per click
I heard that some expensive medical devices have very high click costs. Sorry - can't name them. Could try MRI scanners!
Probably true, they offer the service because it makes them money and lots of us and makes the average site designer link they can make tons. Good luck. -Patz
