I know if a site gets targeted visitors, has a high CTR and has good affiliate programs running, that you can make good money, but what's the smallest # visitors that you would say you need to make this thing work. Those of you who are earning money.... do you have a light traffic site that's performing well?
It not the minimum page views, its the content of your site and ad placement that matters.Well my site which has now only around 20-30 hits/day gets me around 1-4$/day!
I go by uniques. If you can get about 1000 - 2000 uniques a day to your site then you should be making something worth while. Depending on the topic of your site it might be $500 a month or it might be $2000 a month. The term "light traffic" is hard to put a number on. If I had a site with 10k uniques per day I would think it's large... but others would laugh
There are NO absolutes. You have to put up a site and see what happens. The result will depend on lots of factors; mostly unknown. Things like prices advertisers pay for clicks change from day to day, hour to hour etc. Your demographic will be unique and so will your results. For example, "...make the thing work" Depends on where you live and what you think is good money.
It really does depend on a lot of things.. I know a dude who runs a neopets game help site and he gets about 3000 uniques a day and gets about 5 - 10 cents a click... ends up with like $10 a day. I had about 50 uniques the other day and made almost $7. Two of those ads ended up paying $1+. I think they were mortgage related. It just depends.. hehe.
