    Hi,

I'm quite new here and this is my first post.

Right now I'm in the process of doing link building for my website.I get an advise from a friend of mine that I should not submit to more than 10 directories per day.If not my site will be penalised by Google.

So I would like to know is that true?

Then what's the maximum submission should I do per day?

I have never seen any proof of that. It's reciteled every now and than but still no one was ever able to prove it.

According to that theory, it would seem like Google spiders the entire internet every day. Does it even make sense to anyone? Use your common sense and figure it out.

But I just aware of my site being penalised by Google.

Do you do link building (manually) hextraordinary? If so,then could you share how many submission you do per day?

No,it's not true at all.I couldn't any disadvantage if you submit my site to 100+ dirs a day. There's no maximum, just submit as much as you want to.

The idea behind setting a limit to the daily submissions is that google will not think it's natural that more than a certain number of links per day is acquired by a new website. I have seen new websites 'sandboxed', so I don't think the idea is totally without merit. On the other hand - the links will really help you once your website is out of the sandbox. So if you are willing to take the risk, keep submitting to directories...

Submit to every free directory advertised here on DP and don't worry about a maximum submission penalty.

Really, I think about your only way to get penalized for getting links too fast is if you join one of those "linking networks" and suddenly go from 25 to 50,000 links in a few weeks.

Why I think this theory couldn't be true is beacuse let say your site gets advertised in the newspaper or on tv and 1000's of people link to your site afterwards G can't penalize you. This is all natural links and it is not that you went link hunting...

Google will not find all your links in one day,its bot will visit some directory today, some tomorrow, some in 10 days.
Niether all directories will approve your links in one day.
So, I dont see any reason why this would be a problem.
