Because there are sites which grab domains which recently expired, or would get them for free for a few days.

By putting a domain in a sandbox, they can eliminate this practice.

Many new domains are blackhat (I guess) so the sandbox will slow down everyone ut mostly effects on the one with short term purposes.

A lot of sites die really quickly. By putting them in the SandBox they don't mess up the search result with sites that wont be there for long.

Because some people throw up sites and use black hat to get traffic for something for a few weeks. They do not want a bunch of sites that have nothing to offer just selling something and only registered for a year

Google likes to ensure that they "trust" a site before it ranks well, and apparently Google doesn't trust easily sometimes :)

If there was not a phenomenon called the Google sandbox, there would be probably around 50,000,000,000 websites accessible now and the majority of them would have been created merely for advertising, spam or linking purposes. Google, by introducing the Sandbox, has actually added value to the reliable, older websites and also has prevented the newcomers playing with the SEO tricks for getting top rankings quickly.

I have never had a problem getting sites to rank quickly.

Sandbox = You don't know how to effectively optimize and promote your website.

The Sandbox exists to stop crappy sites getting high rankings.

If you don't try and get like 10,000 backlinks in one day you'll be fine.

You should promote and do SEO to your site that is in sandbox.. If you won't do anything your website will not be indexed for 5 months and upward.

So is you saying a 1 month old site will be able to outrank a 5 year old site if promoted enough?

Yes there's one example i posted where i ranked page 1 for "SEO Company" in 4 weeks with a new domain. I outranked sites regged 1999 targeting the term.

It's an old post, but in it i said i'd try for the term "SEO" next and i did and ranked #4 on Google.com which was higher then domains such as SEObook.

Domain age is only a small factor, you can outrank old domains using the other hundreds of factors.

Davin, Try to put content of some one else on your website, just make the clone website, your website will be imidiately reported in Google, as well as your domain also could be suspended.
