Just wondering if many people here are promoting as an affiliate, products that only give you a small return like $10-12 or less for example. I'm just playing around with bum marketing and just wonder if it's worth writing all those articles, building a blogger landing page when the commission isn't as high. Any experiences out there?
No experience, but just speaking my mind. I think it might be, because think about it. If something is cheaper, people are more likely to buy. Higher conversion rate means more sales, which means more money. I can be wrong though
$18 is the lowest commission I'm actively promoting. What really matters is the overall return on investment. If you're only making $10 per sale but it converts at 1 in 25 that's better than something else that makes you $40 but converts only 1 in 200. The former nets you $40 per 100 clicks and the second only $20. That being said - I am a bit turned off by low commissions - I usually avoid them... $18 is about as low as I'll go I think.
About 35-40% of my sales come from products with $10-14 commission range. In the affiliate world every dollar counts. Of course the "value" of going low also depends on where you are ($14 in the US is different from $14 in Asia)
I've tried promoting an eBook on palm reading. The commission was about $7 I think. I thought it would mean better conversion and more sales because of the low price, but I never got any sales, lol, even though one of my videos is on the first page of google for "Learn Palm Reading". I usually find more success with $20-$30+ products..
Hi.... I do get hops on a CB product that I promoted last year that pays about $12 in commissions. Now I normally don't promote something unless I'm getting at least a $30 payout. Oddly enough, I have found that lower priced products (less than $20 payout) convert LESS than the highe priced ones. Just my experience though. JoeMack
