The FAQ said 6-9 months, but can it be a full year or longer?

it was exactly a year for one of ours, just got out - also beware of overmarketing whilst you are in the sandbox

Honestly I don't believe the sandbox exists. With good backlinks and on-page optimization any site can rank for moderately competitive keywords after 1 month.

There is some sort of time delay factor. I got a site past it in 3 - 4 months and ranking on the front page for competitive long tails in competition with the major price comparison engines etc. I've never seen more than a year, even though others say it happens. Maybe its different optimisation techniques and/or different levels of keyword competition

I want to add some lines in your words,
As i know After you get picked up by Google Sandbox it can last anywhere from 6 months to a year and a half for your site to be out of Google. More popular your keywords are more chances you have to be in a Sandbox for a longer period of time.

    SEOibiza.
Hi, you asked for a sand boxed site.

My dart shop is sandboxed. www.dartshop.com.au i rank well for dart shop and some of the lesser keywords but the real word i need, is simply "darts".

Site is 4 months old, listed in dmoz, botw, joeant, alive and has 4000 links, 15 are PR4, 4-5 PR5 and 1 PR6. I have 5 authority links.

I am invisible on the search for "darts" in any results, yet rank #1-4 on "dart shop".

Only possible explanation is sandbox, so im just trying to be patient, keep working through it and hoping.

    Damn its annoying.....

Or the correct explanation that there is 17,000,000 competitors for 'Darts' but only 40,000 for 'Dart Shop'...your links are insufficient, it's not that you are sand boxed.

That is possible but even searching on Google Aust i dont show. IMHO i'm in what would be termed a sandbox, but many people on here have more knowledge than me and may know better. I hope im wrong.

I do know that just 2 weeks before the last PR update I posted a comment on a blog, it became a featured comment and in some way became a site wide link, because they liked the comment. Directly related topic (darts) and i thought it was awesome. But it picked me up 2000 links (few PR5, few PR4 and heaps 1 and 2), since then serps have fallen heaps and i didnt get a PR rank at all. That surprised me. I know PR isnt vital and that serps are more important, but i had hoped the PR update may have helped. Instead i thinl Google penalised me.

I dont care about ranking world wide, merely high serps in Australia.

So all of your links are from one domain? That's probably the problem. If you had 2000 links all from different websites then you should rank for 'darts' but with only 1 unique website linking to you I think you're lucky to rank for 'dart shop'.

No....not all linkinks from one site. 2000 came from 1 site a month ago, the other 2000 are directories and some very good ones as mentioned in my first posting. DMOZ, BOTW, joeant, etc etc.

Looking at stats "Darts" is top keyword and the next 5 words do not add up, in total, to the searches on "darts".

Thats the problem, the word is associated with darts in sport, fish, cars, movement, frogs etc.

Patience and building via other keywords is all i can do.

Sorry to the original op for hijacking this thread.......I didn't mean to do so. :)

I think it exists. If your keyword is only moderately competitive, it's normal if you won't get sandboxed. I often recognized that my sites ranked nowhere in the top 1000 for fairly competitive keywords but then after several months, suddenly it went to the top 15 (or top 10). I experienced this kind of huge jump several times. If not because of sandbox, then what?
